The 2017 National African American MSM Leadership Conference on HIV/AIDS and other Health Disparities is currently accepting abstract submissions relevant to HIV/AIDS and other health disparities and its impact on the African American MSM community.
CONFERENCE ABSTRACT SUBMISSION GUIDELINES:
To be considered for abstract presentation at the 2017 National African American MSM Leadership Conference on HIV/AIDS and other Health Disparities, abstracts must be submitted by Monday, October 17th, 2016 by 8PM EST / 5PM PST.
Abstracts must emphasize learning objectives and the presentation format should highlight the knowledge or skills that will be acquired by participants. Be sure to have an abstract title, track, category, level, presenter(s) name(s) and presenter(s) contact information must be provided in the indicated spaces. All authors must be listed.
Do not send resumes or curriculum vitae.
Abstracts cannot exceed the following character limits: background: 800 characters; models 750 characters; results 1200 characters; conclusions 1200 characters. No illustrations are permitted.
Proposed abstracts must follow the following format: Background, Methods, Results, and Conclusion OR Description, Model(s) used, Expectations, and Lessons Learned.
All proposed abstracts must have a learning objective/expected outcome section that outlines what you expect participants to gain from attending your presentation.
Abstracts submitted as an institute must also include an attached agenda or outline, which will not be counted in the character limit.
NO LATE SUBMISSIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED, NO EXCEPTIONS.
HAND WRITTEN / FAXED / MAILED ABSTRACTS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.
Please note that we will try to be as flexible as possible when scheduling workshops and institutes, however, because many popular sessions are offered concurrently, we will not be able to accommodate all request. As such, we may ask presenters to do a repeat performance, should time permit.
ABSTRACT SELECTION PROCESS
Selection of an abstract will be based on its relevance to issues that affect AA MSM, level of interest expected in the proposed session and overall clarity of the abstract. A review panel will make selection recommendations and the conference committee will make final selections and approvals.
Abstracts that will NOT be accepted include:
Faxed / Handwritten / Mailed abstracts
Sales pitch for products or services
Non-relevant to African American MSM or HIV/AIDS prevention, services, or other health related disparities
Abstracts received after 8PM EST / 5PM PST on October 17th, 2016 will not be accepted nor reviewed
Notification of abstract status will be emailed to primary authors and contributing authors no later than November 21st 2016. Until that time, NAESM will be unable to provide abstract status by phone, or email request. Please note that submission of an abstract implies a commitment to be present at the conference.
All accepted abstract presenters MUST be registered (paid) for the conference.
